While being at the illustrious Bowie State University, I learned the true meaning of pride and dignity and what it means to give back to the community. One of my biggest life goals is to gain an education that enables me to secure my future financially so one day I can come back to Bowie and share my knowledge and experience with the younger generations of successful people.
In connecting with my friends, I favor diversity in personality and perception. I enjoy having open-minded, creative, intuitive, and "out of the box" thinkers surrounding me. My friends and I uplift each other so we can reach our full potential. In a group of eclectic minds, there is no room for negativity as we all strive for greatness. We are all different, but we are resilient, and I believe our resilience connects us most.
I feel most alive when I'm helping people reach their full potential and do what they are passionate about. During my senior year in high school, I was involved in Peer Mentoring and tutoring programs in which I aided younger students, and guided them in the direction of success by supplying them with tips from my experience and knowledge. If the younger students lacked a skill in a certain area, I enjoyed being able to teach them that skill or find somebody who would be able to. I enjoyed seeing the students grow mentally and acquire new interests in things I introduced them to. Throughout the duration of the programs, I was able to establish a bond with the students, as well as share talents and skills with them.
